Alpinist in a fatal accident on Piz Polashin

On Thursday afternoon, an alpinist fell in Silvaplana on Piz Polaschin. While abseiling, he fell around thirty meters and was fatally injured.

At 16.55:XNUMX p.m., the operations control center of the Graubünden cantonal police received a message from the alpinist's companion that his colleague had crashed on Piz Polaschin. The two had previously been on the ascent and broke it off due to the advanced time.

While abseiling, the first of the two fell at an altitude of around 2 m above sea level. about thirty meters deep. He sustained fatal injuries on impact.

A Rega crew and a helicopter rescue specialist from the SAC Bernina section recovered the alpinist. The alpine police are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the alpinist's crash.
