The German mountaineering specialist Ortovox is launching a shop selling refurbished products.
Repair instead of throwing away? What used to be taken for granted has increasingly slipped out of sight over time - the throwaway society sends its regards. The longevity of a product is decisive for its sustainability. Extending the average product lifespan by three months saves up to 10% of the carbon, waste and water footprint.

Ortovox therefore does everything it can to develop its products to be repairable and durable. In this sense, therefore, the Ortovox 2nd Life Shop is being created - a platform for B-goods or products from complaints that have been repaired at the company's headquarters in Taufkirchen near Munich.
All products in the new shop are professionally repaired, so customers always buy a fully functional part in the best condition.
40% of clothes bought are never worn
Statistics say that around 40% of the textiles bought in Germany remain largely unworn - a frightening fact that has a massive environmental impact. In addition to the repairability of the Ortovox products, their longevity is also a focus of production.
