A contribution to Transa Travel & Outdoor

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This approach is an important guide on the way from a throwaway society to more conscious and sustainable consumer behavior. In other words: Where it is not possible to reduce individual consumption, the focus should at least be on reusing products and recycling them at the end of their life cycle.

When it comes to reuse, there are now numerous exciting initiatives that help extend the lifespan of functional clothing and outdoor equipment. sex For example, we have set up our own 600 square meter repair workshop in Altstetten, where a solution can be found for almost every problem with your equipment.

Repair service for functional clothing and outdoor equipment

As the name suggests, repairing is the core of the repair workshop. But Transa also takes care of washing or waterproofing your functional clothing. The specialists on site will find a solution for almost any damage to functional clothing and outdoor equipment.

The price of the repair depends on the damage, the demands on the solution and the effort involved. The following examples are to be understood as a rough guideline: Gluing a hole/tear in a down jacket: from 10 CHF, changing the waterproof zipper on a Gore-Tex jacket: from 140 CHF.

With proper care, you can extend the life of your product and often avoid or delay repairs.

It's worth asking: Just bring your defective product over. The professionals in the repair workshop will almost certainly find a solution.

Resoling: Second life for climbing finches, mountain boots etc.

In addition to repairs, Transa also offers the resoling of climbing shoes or hiking and mountain boots. This means you can use shoes that you have “worn in” for much longer and don’t have to throw them away because of a hole or a loose sole.

The cost of resoling can vary greatly depending on the model and brand, especially for hiking boots. The prices for climbing finches are more specific:

  • Soles for climbing finches with half sole: CHF 79
  • Soles for climbing finches, half sole including a tip: CHF 89
  • Soles for climbing finches, half sole with two tips: CHF 99

Taking adequate care of functional clothing is not always easy. In the repair workshop, Transa specialists will take care of the washing and waterproofing for you.

Care service

Where wood is chopped, splinters must fall. That means: functional clothing and outdoor equipment has to withstand a lot. Proper care significantly extends its lifespan.

But with the high-end materials used in today's outdoor equipment, it's not always that easy. That's why Transa offers its own washing service for sophisticated down products and impregnates functional clothing at the Fjällräven Wax Station.
