American Hillary Gerardi sets a new record on Mont Blanc with a time of 7 hours and 25 minutes. On Saturday 17 June 2023 at 2 a.m. she set off from Chamonix church. After 7 hours and 25 minutes, she returned to her starting point, having covered a distance of 32,67 km and a vertical drop of 3877 m. 

The German extreme mountaineer and mountain guide Luis Stitzinger has had an accident on Kangchenjunga. The 54-year-old had reached the summit of the third highest mountain in the world last Thursday afternoon and sent a last radio message around 21 p.m. - he has been missing since then.

The French brand Samaya has set itself the task of revolutionizing the 4-season tent. Since it was founded in 2018, it has been pursuing this goal as uncompromisingly as it is successfully. In three product lines, it produces ultra-light and extremely high-performance tents for mountaineering and high-altitude mountaineering.

The three alpinists Roger Schäli, Simon Gietl and Mathieu Maynadier have opened a new, challenging route on the 6600 meter high Meru Peak in the Indian Garhwal Himalayas: Goldfish (800m, M6+, A1). Schäli and Maynadier had already tried the route together with Sean Villanueva in 2019, but had to turn around in the upper third of the wall.

From February 12th to 13th, the Italian alpinists Francois Cazzanelli, Emrik Favre and Stefano Stradelli opened a new route on the west face of the Aiguille Noire du Peuterey (3.773 m) in the Mont Blanc massif: Couloir Isaïe (600m, M8, 7a/ 7a+, AI5).

The French mountain guides Benjamin Védrines, Nicolas Jean and Julien Cruvellier de Luze are opening a new route through the previously untouched "La Gorge" on the south face of the Barre des Écrins, the southernmost 4000m peak in the Alps: De l'Or en Barre (1000m, M7 , A1, 5+, ED+).
