On February 3, 2025, Will Bosi succeeded in repeating one of the most difficult sport climbing routes in the world: Excalibur (9b+). Exactly two years to the day after the first ascent by Stefano Ghisolfi.
The two top climbers Stefano Ghisolfi and Will Bosi asked themselves this question and immediately put it to the test. For their superlative campus experiment, they chose the 8b/+ sport climbing route, appropriately named Gravity Games (8b/+).
Stefano Ghisolfi climbs his long-term project Excalibur in Arco. The route, rated 9b+, is not only the hardest first ascent of the Italian climbing professional to date, but also the most difficult sport climbing route in Italy.
The potential 9c route Excalibur has been attracting the best climbers in the world to Arco for a year. Adam Ondra also followed the call of the heavily overhanging route with her micro holds. Now the strong Czech surprisingly gives up and says: Game over, I'm out.
With Stefano Ghisolfi, Adam Ondra and Jakob Schubert, three of the world's best climbers joined forces in spring 2022 to wrestle an ascent of the potential 9c line Excalibur - without success. Will Bosi has been staying in Arco for a short time. After just one day, the strong Scot was able to do all 18 moves and climb the route in three stages.
