After helicopter crash: mountain sports community mourns Adam George

A few days ago there was a helicopter crash at Petit Combin in Valais. Three people lost their lives in this tragic accident, including the well-known mountain guide, alpinist and climber Adam George.

On Tuesday morning, a helicopter with six people on board crashed on the Grand Combin mountain airfield and slid into the steep north face of the mountain. According to a statement from the Valais cantonal police, three people lost their lives and three others were injured.

In addition to the helicopter pilot and a young skier, the group's mountain guide was among the victims of the accident. The American-born Adam George ran the guiding company “Into the Mountains” together with his wife Caroline in Vollèges and was considered a very respected and popular local mountain guide.
