At the IFSC Bouldering World Cup in Prague, the Korean Dohyun Lee secured the first World Cup gold medal of his career. Adam Ondra wins the silver medal in his competition debut this year in front of a home crowd. The Frenchman Mejdi Schalck completes the podium.
Climbed at the Boulder World Cup in Prague Dohyun Lee on top of the podium in front of around five thousand enthusiastic fans. The 20-year-old South Korean cracked all four final boulders, three of them on the first try. Also all problems could crowd favorite Adam Ondra solve. However, he needed more attempts than his Korean opponent.
Match-winning plate problem
The key to Dohyun Lee's victory was the M3 problem - a flat boulder that only he and Adam Ondra managed: while the strong Czech needed a total of three attempts, the South Korean only needed one until he had the top grip in his hand held. For Lee it is the first World Cup medal ever, for Ondra the 15th podium in the Boulder discipline.

The winner of the first two bouldering competitions of the season, the Frenchman Mejdi Schalck, completed the medal ranks in third place and secured the bronze medal with three tops and four zones. He only failed because of the tricky plate problem M3.

With Jan Luca Posch and Yannick Flohe two athletes from Austria and Germany made the jump in the final. Posch finished his World Cup finals debut in sixth place. Veteran Flohé finished behind the Japanese Yoshiyuki Ogata the fifth place.
