"To put it bluntly, we've become a bit of a victim of our own success," says Reinhold Scherer, director of the Innsbruck Climbing Center. To relieve pressure on the popular but overcrowded climbing center, the Austrian Alpine Club is now planning a second climbing center in Völs, which is scheduled to open in fall 2026.
