The only 19-year-old from Graubünden became vice world champion on his World Cup debut.
The Slovenian Janja Garnbret once again confirms her absolute dominance in sport climbing for women. She wins the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Two Japanese women, Miho Nonaka and Akiyo Noguchi, follow in second and third place. Jessica Pilz falls to 2th place shortly before the end of the competition.
The young Spaniard Alberto Gines Lopez wins the first Olympic gold medal in the history of sport climbing. The American Nathaniel Coleman and the Austrian Jakob Schubert follow in second and third place. Crown favorite Adam Ondra finished in 6th place.
Last night the final of the second bouldering competition took place in Salt Lake City. Sean Bailey and Natalia Grossman both won gold in front of their home crowd.
