A special kind of anniversary gift: For their 30th wedding anniversary, Robert and Daniela Jasper are trying a new route through the north face of the Eiger.
On July 12, 2022, the two Swiss alpinists Nicolas Hojac and Adrian Zurbrügg climbed the Swiss Skyline Route from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland in a new best time of 13 hours and 8 minutes. In the video for their record ascent, the two comment on the fine line between speed and risk.

On Tuesday afternoon, a man had an accident on the ski run from the Eiger via the west flank. The rescue workers who were immediately called up could only rescue the man dead. His companion was flown out unharmed.
