Two first ascents by Adam Ondra in two days: Macedonian Trip (9a) and Czech Trip (9a +)

Adam Ondra continues his Balkan journey and is the first to score an 9a in Macedonia. The route Macedonian trip (9a) was created by Klemen Becan in the year 2014. One day later he commits the extended version Czech Trip (9a + hard).

"Another Balcan destination, another country, another awesome bunch of people, another great place to climb and another great routes and projects to climb" describes Adam Ondra his stay in Macedonia. After being in Croatia and Bosnia hard routes climbed and he made a short trip to Italy, Adam returned back to the Balkans. In an old project of Klemen Becan After just three attempts, he managed to cross the 9a route Macedonian trip.

Adam Ondra is up for more

After the ascent of Klemen Becan's route, Adam drilled a much more difficult and longer exit. The result is a 50 meter long dream line with a level of difficulty 9a + (hard). For a long time Adam did not hesitate with the extension: "On my first serious try after a day of bolting and cleaning, I made the first ascent of Czech Trip 9a + (hard)." The routes are in the Mavrovo climbing area in western Macedonia.
