New climbing guide Ecopoint Frankenjura | Raffle

A few weeks ago, the climbing scene gained a new climbing guide: Ecopoint Frankenjura. The work by the two climbers Lena-Marie Müller and Sofie Paulus is not an ordinary guide. The book presents climbing spots that can be reached by public transport, on foot or by bike. We are giving away a copy of the Ecopoint Frankenjura climbing guide.

Put the rope and backpack in the trunk, press the accelerator pedal and then manage the five-minute approach and you are standing at the foot of the wall. This is what a typical day looks like for many climbers. The two German climbers are breaking the trend. Lena-Marie Müller and Sophie Paul with the concept Ecopoint climbing.

Ecopoint climbing means following a route, arriving by public transport, on foot and/or by bike.

They have the vision to make mobility in climbing more sustainable – in Frankenjura and beyond. "Less is more" is their motto. In order to motivate as many people as possible to travel by public transport or under their own steam instead of by car, they have published a climbing guide.

Glacier Valais

In the Ecopoint climbing guide, the authors present 14 Franconian climbing areas, 27 rocks and over 400 routes. Above all, however, they show environmentally and socially acceptable travel options by train, bus and/or bike.

For orientation, there is an overview map for each of the areas between Bayreuth, Forchheim, Nuremberg and Amberg with numerous climbing destinations, restaurant and accommodation tips, swimming spots and much more. The maps are supplemented by digital Komoot collections with cycling and hiking trails in the areas.

The Ecopoint Frankenjura climbing guide is available in numerous shops and climbing halls in southern Germany in book form or online as a PDF.

  1. The gendered guide is the logical consequence of the self-importance of the woke "Franconian" climbing "scene". Interestingly, the young gentleman who smiles so nicely in the freely available pages (incidentally, he is a mechanic from the Bambule in Nuremberg) happens to be seen driving around Franconia quite often...
The majority of climbers still approach the rocks with their diesel bully. And in winter they head to southern climes...

This is really a work that you can absolutely skip. I can also easily plan the journey to the rock using public transport using Google Maps.
And the people who actually do it regularly don't act like that. embarrassing.
