Light and warm: the Ghost Whisperer down jacket from Mountain Hardware

Product of the month - the days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping and the ski touring season is getting closer. Warming equipment is the order of the day. We recommend the Ghost Whisperer down jacket from Mountain Hardwear for those who want to be light and light despite the cold.

A contribution by Fabian Reichle - Bächli Bergsport

We have all experienced it: on icy days we trudge through the snow towards a mountain peak and somehow we feel like a mummy - thickly wrapped up and with the slight discomfort that all the layers somehow restrict our own movement. And yet we do without equipment that is too light, after all, we don't want to freeze. A real tightrope walk.

It weighs 190 grams and is filled with 1000 cuin

The best of both worlds probably doesn't exist - but with modern technology you can get very close. A prime example is the Ghost Whisperer Jacket from Mountain Hardware.

The water-repellent down jacket weighs just under 190 grams. This goes hand in hand with the fact that it can be stowed in the backpack in an extremely space-saving manner. And yet you do not have to do without warmth with this flyweight.

The Ghost Whisperer has a whopping 1000 cuin down filling. Cuin? This defines the fill power of the down. In short: the higher the cuin value of down, the less filler material is required to achieve an efficient thermal effect. 1000 cuin is located in the uppermost area. Therefore, the jacket can be light and warm. So two birds with one stone.

The technical details of the Ghost Whisperer UL Jacket

  • Ultralight (189g)
  • Upper material: 100% nylon
  • Water repellent
  • Bluesign certified (label for sustainable textile production)
