Hanging by a Thread: Fighting Back to Life | Climbing Film

A fateful accident changed Philipp Hrozek's life forever. "By a Thread" tells the moving story of the German climber who not only overcomes his physical limits, but reaches new heights through his will, his passion and his love for his family. A must for everyone who loves sport - and life in all its facets.

For many climbers, the wall is a place of retreat, a world in which they can be completely at one with themselves and leave everyday life behind. Philipp Hrozek knows this only too well: "When you climb, you switch off, and find an outlet for all your worries by concentrating on the moment." But for him, after a serious car accident, climbing became much more than just a hobby - it became an anchor in a time when nothing was safe anymore.

The film on a silken thread tells the story of Philipp Hrozek, who found his way back to life after a traumatic accident and an uncertain future. Incomplete tetraparesis - a neurological disorder that no longer provided his limbs with the proper support - meant that he had to learn from scratch: walking, talking, even everyday movements were a challenge.

But despite all the adversities, he never had the option of giving up climbing. With iron discipline and the support of his family, he fought his way back - step by step, hold by hold.
