Adam Ondra climbed a 212a route for the 9th time

In February of this year, Adam Ondra made a short stop in Val Pennavaire, Italy. Before starting the 9a route Narcissus, Ondra checked how many 9a's he had already scored in his life. To his own surprise, he had long since exceeded the 200 mark.

Adam Ondra climbed his first 13a route at the age of 9. A few days after his 31st birthday, the successful Czech climbed the 212th route in this grade. Ondra has climbed an average of twelve 9a routes per year. When you consider that most of the ascents fall in the second half of the time period, the number is all the more impressive.

I was surprised that I had already exceeded the 200 mark.
