Why are Japanese climbers so strong?

At the Lead World Cup in Wujiang, the Japanese climbers won 5 out of 6 podium places. But they are also guaranteed to win regular medals at international competitions in the discipline of bouldering. Where does this dominance come from? Jonathan Sin investigated this question.
