Magnus Midtbo takes creatine for 2 months – and becomes massively stronger | Self-test

Magnus Midtbo took creatine for the first time in his career and analyzed in a self-test what effect the dietary supplement had on his body.

Magnus Midtbo Long before his career as a YouTuber, he made a name for himself for his one-finger, one-arm pull-ups. And of course for climbing monstrous routes like Ali Hulk Extension Sit Start (9b). He has always been a machine and still is today.

Completely without dietary supplements

As Midtbo explains in his latest video, he had never taken any nutritional supplements until recently. But that has changed. In a self-test, Midtbo creatine and achieved a significant increase in performance.

Criticism

Well, we don't want to go into a long and detailed critique, but a few points should be mentioned here. Creatine undoubtedly causes muscle mass to grow, but at the same time it also causes water to be stored in the tissue. All in all, this also means extra weight, and we want to avoid that when climbing.

In addition, Midtbo's comparison test in his video is not a hard, overhanging route, but bench presses and pull-ups with additional weight. These two exercises are about pure strength, so it's not surprising that he got better thanks to creatine. We doubt that he would be able to climb a route at his personal limit more easily after the two-month test phase.

So before you run to the nearest store and buy creatine, think carefully about whether it really makes sense. Taking creatine always comes with side effects. Among other things, the risk of injury increases.
