Bouldering World Cup Curitiba: Info, program & live stream

For the first time, a World Cup will take place in South America this weekend. At the event in Curitiba, southwest of Sao Paulo, everything will revolve around the discipline of bouldering, following the lead and speed competitions of the past few weeks.

After one boulder and two lead World Cups in Asia, the IFSC World Cup season continues to South America for the first time: In Curitiba, the capital of the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, a BoulderWorld Cup takes place.

German team strongly represented

As expected, there are many bouldering specialists in Brazil, including Elias Arriagada Kruger, Lasse von Freier, Max Kleesattel and Tim Würthner for Team Germany. Many participants from the last Lead World Cups will also be competing in the men's race, including Toby Roberts and Sorato Anraku, whose perfect season run was abruptly interrupted in Bali.

In the women’s competition, some familiar faces are missing this season, such as the double gold winner Erin McNeice and her rival Chaehyun SeoRegistered for Curitiba are Oriane Bertone, Futaba Ito, Camilla Moroni, as well as Sandra Lettner and Lea Kempf from Austria. The German team will be competing with a large group of Afra Hönig, Alma Bestvater, Anna Apel, Sandra Hopfensitz and Florence Grünewald.

Due to local quota places, numerous athletes from Brazil, but also from Chile, Colombia and Bolivia will be competing in Curitiba.

After the event in Curitiba, the 2025 season moves on to the USA, where a Paraclimbing World Cup and then another Bouldering World Cup will take place in Salt Lake City. Before all disciplines return to Europe, another Speed ​​World Cup will take place in Denver.

Schedule & Program

At the event in Curitiba, the women's and men's qualifications will take place on Friday, before Saturday is all about the men's semifinals and finals, followed by the women's semifinals and finals on Sunday.

Unlike the previous World Cup-Locations in Asia are located in Curitiba (GMT-3), with a five-hour time difference to Central European Summer Time (GMT+2). All times refer to the local time in Curitiba.
