Video: Nalle Hukkataival on a training course in Squamish

Nalle Hukkataival visited the Canadian bouldering area Squamish in September and - as so often - some hard boulders were ticking. Among other things, he succeeded in the second ascent of the Boulder Singularity (8b + / c). A decade after Tim Clifford's first ascent.

Regarding the difficulty of Singularity, Nalle says "Really extra tough to comment on the difficulty. The fact that it's fended off the efforts of a list of 8b + climbers for over a decade must mean something. Does that suggest 8c? Or make it a 8b + that's just really hard to do? Is there a difference between those two? " Finally, the degree does not play such a big role, we still like watching Nalle bouldering.

On March 5th and 6th, South Tyrolean alpinist Simon Gietl completed a solo winter ascent of the challenging route "Phantom der Zinne" (7c+, 7a+ obl., 550 meters). The line on the north face of the Cima Grande was first climbed by Christoph Hainz and Kurt Astner in 1995 and is considered one of the most demanding and aesthetically pleasing routes on this striking wall.
