Will Bosi secures the second ascent of Aidan Roberts' line Spots of Time (9A) in the Lake District. Bosi is thus the first climber in the world with four 9A boulders on his ticklist.
Will Bosi is the first climber to repeat the 9A boulder Spots of TimeAs with Burden of Dreams, the 25-year-old Scotsman had been constantly sharing his progress on the former Helvellyn Project with his fan base. In this respect, the news of his successful climb came as little surprise, especially since he made an important breakthrough in the fifth session.
«Spots of Time embodies the purity of bouldering»
In total, Will Bosi needed eight sessions to complete Spots of Time. Regarding the difficulty level, he told climbing magazine Desnivel: "I'm pretty convinced it's 9A. To be honest, I think this problem is one of the best hard lines in the world and I hope it will attract more climbers."
He was motivated to try Spots of Time ever since Aidan Roberts completed the project, says Bosi, and he can hardly stop raving about it: "The line is incredible. Although there are only a few moves, it is very technical and you have to make sure that each move suits you. Everything about this line makes it special. The location above Helvellyn Lake is fantastic and the problem embodies the purity of bouldering, with just one line and just enough holds."
Fourth 9A boulder for Bosi
By climbing Spots of Time, Will Bosi becomes the first and only climber in the world to climb four boulder problems with a difficulty level of 9A. In 2022 he climbed alphanes in Chironico, followed in 2023 Burden of Dreams in Finland and 2024 Return of the Sleepwalker in the Red Rocks and now Spots of Time in the Lake District.
