Katie Lamb recently repeated the Fallen Angel (8C) line in Lake Tahoe, which was first climbed by Jimmy Webb. For the American bouldering specialist, this is already the third boulder of this difficulty level.
She couldn’t say much about it at the moment, wrote Katie Lamb after the successful completion of Fallen Angel (8C) in Lake Tahoe, California. "You just have to trust that this climb means a lot to me."
Katie Lamb is only the fifth person to solve the boulder problem opened by Jimmy Webb in 2021. And as with equinimity (8C) or at box therapy (8C+), she can also claim to be the first woman to climb the boulder.
In Fallen Angel, Katie Lamb once again demonstrates her enormous power. While other climbers before her have solved the complex movement from an underhand grip with a toe hook to a shoulder pull with the right hand over a ledge, the strong American doubles the Gaston (see video above).
The 27-year-old is definitely one of the strongest boulderers in the world. Last year, she not only solved difficult lines like the Highball Spectre in the Buttermilks or Deadlift in Squamish, she also reached grade 8C+ for the first time with her repeat of Box Therapy.
