Bouldered again 8c: Drew Ruana with the first ascent of Pegasus

The American Drew Ruana is causing a stir again. A few days ago he made a difficult first ascent in Joe's Valley: Pegasus (8c).

Drew Ruana was already in the headlines at the end of January when he got the repeat of Sleepwalker (8c +) and The Nest (8c). The 20-year-old is one of the strongest young climbers in the United States. At the age of 16 he had already climbed three 9a climbing routes and to date has climbed four 8c boulders and one 8c + boulder.

13-train boulder Pegasus

His most recent ascent is a combination of five extremely heavy trains that lead to the Pagan Poetry low (8a +) sit-start boulder.

“With around 13 moves, Pegasus is more on the strength endurance side and will probably be in the 8c range. I invested a total of seven sessions in the ascent. "
