Schäli and von Känel open new route in Bergell | Methadone

The Swiss alpinists Roger Schäli and Peter von Känel succeeded in climbing a new route through the north face of the Sciora Dafora in the Bergell. The topo of the route Methadone (M5+, 800m, Trad) can be found at the end of the article.

While some people were popping champagne corks in a relaxed atmosphere, Roger Schäli and Peter von Kaenel in a 15-hour adventure into an impressive north face. A new trad line was created on the Sciora Dafora.

The route methadone The two describe it as a beautiful and moderately difficult tour, but one that should not be underestimated.

The 800-meter-long line kept Roger and me busy for 15 hours.

Roger Schäli discovered the tour from the valley. To the surprise of the two alpinists, however, they discovered a hook in the upper part of the route, which is why it can be assumed that this area had been explored before.

We were convinced that we were the first on this wild north face, so we were surprised to come across a piton two rope lengths before the exit. Respect!
