With the Barryvox S2, Mammut is launching a new avalanche search device that has it all: It combines intuitive operation with advanced search support and thus sets new standards in avalanche rescue.
Mammoths newest LVS, the Barryvox S2, is not only smaller and lighter than its popular predecessors, but also smarter and faster. But what exactly does that mean?
Barryvox S2: Compact design, maximum search performance
In terms of weight and volume, Mammut has reduced the weight of the new avalanche transceiver optimized again: The Barryvox S2 is 6 millimeters thinner than the popular predecessor model Barryvox 1 and a full 30 grams lighter. With this compact design, it is one of the smallest transceivers currently on the market. This is a great advantage, especially on long tours in the countryside.
This impressive range and the combination of intuitive operation and advanced search support make the Barryvox S2 Away from secured slopes, it is a valuable companion.
New display for better readability
One of the most outstanding innovations of the Barryvox S2 is the Memory in Pixel (MIP) display. This has the great advantage that it ensures good legibility in all weather and lighting conditions and can be read perfectly even with polarized sunglasses. In addition, this new technology is even more energy-efficient, which has a positive effect on battery life.
Acoustic signals and intelligent fine search guidance
In addition to visual instructions, the Barryvox S2 offers acoustic signals. This allows users to keep their eyes on the avalanche cone in an emergency scenario and still receive precise instructions. This is essential to detect possible visual signs of partial burial, such as protruding clothing or exposed equipment.
The Barryvox S2 is the only avalanche transceiver on the market to feature intelligent fine search guidance. This uses a sophisticated algorithm that calculates the closest point to the buried subject and visually guides the rescuer through the fine search.
The probing indication also shows the burial depth and facilitates the transition to pinpoint location. This mode is particularly useful for deeper burials. It uses the device's z-antenna to enable an assessment of the burial depth during the rough search.
Barryvox Training Park: The new training function
The Barryvox S2 can be set up via Bluetooth connection using the Barryvox app. This digital networking also makes installing important firmware updates child's play.
In addition to a comprehensive user manual, the app has a new training function: the Barryvox Training Park.
This feature allows users to improve their avalanche search skills through simulated training scenarios and to prepare optimally for an emergency. Users can choose individual or predefined scenarios and connect up to five devices for complex search exercises and group training.
